I can't comment on a PC DVD player because I don't have any specific experience in that area. I use a Pioneer DV-333 which has been replace by a newer model (and possibly replaced again) but I really like the Pioneer. It's cheap, has good picture quality, and it will also play CD-R discs. I think you can buy one for around $150-$179.On the subject of Macrovision, I use a Go-Video dual deck VCR that is a couple of years old. I can record a DVD with no problems with Macrovision. I have also heard others comment on a device that Sima makes -(a video stabilizer?) that will also do the job. Search the archives under "Sima" and I'm sure something will turn up.
