Can anyone recommend:1) What to buy
2) Where to buy it?I have about $400-$500 to spend. Would like either a 27" Trinitron w/ Picture-in-picture or a 32" Tube TV. I think.
* The Wega TV's are a bit more. Are they really worth it?
* I may be able to get 20% at Sears, if that helps.
(Not the best place to buy, but hey...)
* Opinions of WalMart, Circuit City, etc.?
Follow Ups:
save that 4-5 bills and go with sony wega xbr. spectacular picture, and i'm cynical. get at least the 36" size and think about the hdtv model since it's where we're headed. anything less than 36" and you will have to move the couch too close to see widescreen formats, even in a normal size room. they take up space but deliver in spades. see one and swoon.
I got a 27" WEGA last year. Love it. Best set I've ever owned.
I won't tell you what to buy. You need to go out and look for yourself and read the reviews. Sounds like you may need to decide on what size and features you want, too. Wega wouldn't be bad, though. If you can get 20% off at Sears and they have what you want, its probably your best bet. Thats pretty hard to beat. BTW, they have in the past been willing to match other dealers, including internet dealers. So even if you cannot get the 20% off, you might want to find the best price you can get then buy there if they are convenient for you.
I haven't bought anything at Circuit City in years. If things are still the same, buying a big ticket item at a reasonable price is a pain there. It always seemed to take longer to whittle them down to a reasonable price than other places. Might be a good place to go to see what you like. If you do go there to buy, just make sure you know what you should be paying first.
Walmart doesn't have anywhere near the selection, at least where I am.
