My Hitachi HDTV will be arriving shortly and was wondering the best approach to connect the audio to my denon 3801 receiver. The receiver will be 30' away from the TV. Can I use connectors with 12' RCA cables to get the distance? Is there a better way to do this?

How are you going to get a signal to this TV?Cable, Satellite, Over the Air Anteena, HD Set top box?
All of these have different strategies depending on your particular setup.
Can you give up a little more information so we can make a better recommendation?
Assuming your set-top HDTV box has optical and coaxial out for Audio, i would get some high-grade Coax and run the digital signal that way to the receiver (i.e. SPIDF to SPIDF via coax!)-Sam
I'll be using a Comcast Cable box (maybe 2 - a digital box I have now and next week they'll be installing what they call a side/car box for HDTV reception).
