I'm mad.
My Dell P1620 (Sony GDM W-900) has been unresponsive since an electrical storm in August. Called my local HT place (Home Theater Systems/Hi-Rez Projections) who had a look at it then sent it to Dave's TV in Ashland, MA because "they are the best at these units".
Weekly calls by me eventually discovered that Dave's had no way to fix my unit without the service manual and then (they claimed) no way to get said service manual. I ordered the manual myself from Sony and hand delivered it to Dave's TV on October 16th. I have called exactly once per week since then and they continually say, "we are still working on it". I politely have requested each time that the tech who is doing the work call me with an update even if just to say "we have/haven't found the problem". They have never called or left a message.
Please help me.
I'm considering taking my monitor elsewhere. I need to know who in the Boston area can do the job right, both techically and give reasonable customer service. There is another place nearby that has been recommended in Natick called "Custom TV". Please advise.Mark H

Good thought, however, I have already checked this out. There is no way to call this center directly and Sony customer service says they will not accept my unit because it is Sony OEM for Dell (i.e a Dell P1620 on the outside, a Sony GDM W900 on the inside.)other ideas?

Hi,
in little Portland Maine we had our own Monitor repair Co. for years. There is still someone repairing monitors, but he works with
computer shops. There must be a few down in the Boston area. Rummage through the computer section of the yellow pages, make a few calls. Worse comes to worse, you can bring it to Maine, but that seems awfully silly. You must have several guys doing that in a town as big as yours.
