My dad is interested in getting a new TV (probably about 35 inch). Since he know basically nothing about audio/video and the internet, he asked me to do some searching for him. Anybody have any recommendations? He is mostly concerned with the picture quality and less with the sound and other features which he will not likely use. Thanks in advance.Brad
Proscan best cost-effective TV, but not close to being the best.Sony Wega whose 36" isn't worth the price increase over 32" since the resolution looks identical which only enhances aliasing problems with the XBR series.
Panasonic Extra-flat series which has the extra resolution necessary for a large screen, but has a charcoalish black.
PS: your dad will probably want a TV for only 5 years until HDTVs become affordable. These are still on re-entry as far as prices are concerned, but are quite impressive. In a decade, I'm sure conventional TVs will be as frowned upon as B&Ws are now, or at least '70s color TVs.
