This was the solution I found to the same problem.http://www.inlineinc.com/products/matrix/3582.htm
It was about $300, but is of excellent quality and completely automatic.
Follow Ups:
where did you buy it at? Thanks
I bought mine from A-Vidd (www.a-vidd.com) They sell professional video products, but had no problem selling me one over the phone. The switcher has BNC connections (one more sett than needed for component video) but a trip to Radio Shack for 9 inexpensive (gold-plated if you like) connectors easily changes it to RCA connections.
Did you have to solder the connectors onto the cables or are they just plug-convertors with a male BNC and female RCA?I am pretty intersted, this way my HDTV,DVD and GameCube could be simultanously be connected to my tv...
No soldering required. They are exactly that type of plug-converter.
