I'm looking for some good in ceiling speakers that would be suitable for multi channel SACD playback as well as Home theater. My electronic's are Bryston and my main's are either going to be Linns or Dynaudio front left and right and center with a rel storm 3 sub. My room is 17 x 20 with lots of windows and hard wood floors. I need something neutral as i'm not sure which main speakers to go with at this point but must install these speakers now as i'm building this room now. Also any tips on Wall receptacles for the speaker jacks and wiring tips would be a great help. Thanks in advance for your time and reply.
Follow Ups:
I have NHT 1.5 in-wall speakers in the ceiling as rears in my 5.1 HT setup. The fronts are conventional 1.5's. Rest consists of an AudioCenter One and a SubOne.The tonal balance is identical between fronts and rears, so if you audition a 1.5 bookshelf speaker, you will get a very good sense of how the inwalls will sound. As you may know, the NHT line is very neutral and revealing, and really does need good amplification to shine - sounds like you are certainly OK there.
You could always audition some bookshelf 1.5's set up as rears and if you like them with your fronts, turn them back in to the dealer in favor of the 1.5 in-walls.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Bill
My room also has lots of windows and wood flooring. I am using in ceilings from Triad called the silver surrounds. They are very good for HT but not sure about an in ceiling for SACD.Steve
