How exactly do you plan to connect all these subs?
I have a Sunfire Theater Grand and it has 3 outputs for subs, I only use one Sun Sub.
Correct me if I am wrong but adding a second sub will only increase your SPL to 3 Db more. Not worth the money in my
opinion.
Im not sure what your goal is, you have chosen some good brands. If your just looking for SPL this is the wrong way. For a fine Hi end you just need to choose one maybe two of the choices you have selected. If you are looking for a monstrous base feel look into Pro Sound Equipment.
from PE that the unaccounted 3dB is due to additional doubling of cone area.
mart,
I think to get 6db, the two subs need to be "coupled" together. In the case of using 7 subs at 7 locations ( or two subs in two locations ) I'm not sure you would get those extra db.
It's quite true that 6dB from dual sources requires the units to be less than 1/4 wavelength apart to reduce interference loss, which by definition emphisises bass.( e.g.: I XO my subs @ 45Hz which means they have to be less than 4'6" apart )
But, he's talking peeks @ 17dB ( not 6dB ) above a single sub w/ 7 units.
