In Reply to: Older Sony DVD player question... posted by Mike on December 19, 2001 at 14:01:36:
I've some generalities to pass along.
My path was Pioneer Laserdisk to Sony 7000, 7500, 9000.I've found the early 7000 to be v. usefull to play CDR (the 9000 won't)
My copy of "Bell, Book, Candles" won't play on the 9000 but will on the 7000.Suggest you look into the hidden value of CDR play. These are home computer MP3 disks.
The resale of really old players is v. low.
Plan to donate it or keep as a backup. The newest 9000 player is really good - CD, DVD, 2-ch SACD but won't play my homemade CDs at all - using a Mac G4/Toast 5.
