Here's what I am considering,What I narrowed down to,
NHT Superones front L/R & surround vs Dynaudio Audience 40 equivalent,
both with their respective centre channel speaker.REL Strata II (maybe III) vs REL Q100e for the low end.
Sony TA-9000ES (pre & power) vs Denon AVR-5700 (AVC-A1d in Europe/Asia).
NO Yam DSP-A1 pls, its good for DSP HT but not what I want in Stereo.Maybe get a cheap DVD player or the Pioneer DVL-919 ld/dvd combo player
for the time being until the new DVD-Audio/Video combo player is available.Match them with my current Sony Trinitron 34" TV.
Music type:
For me, I listen mainly to VERY HEAVY metal and classic/contemporary rock,
classical music, female vocals, new age, dance, blah blah, pretty
much all except rap and those horrible boy bands girl power stuff.Room: 4.5 by 3.4 metres.
LIstening level:
You might have guessed, mostly very loud.Character preference:
I hate sibilance, especially in female vocals & rock music.
I sit still when listening, and I listen to some live tracks as well.
I like music to sound big and powerful, with the speakers seeming to
dissappear.Need all the advice I can get.
I will definitely get a sub, and don't mind listening to music with a
sub. Heard the SuperOne and the Audience40.
While the NHT is neutral, clear, & a little laid back, the Dynes seem to
breathe at you when it sings, I really don't know how to describe it.The Sony sounds better with music I think, but lacks the 7.1 channel
input/output that the Denon has. The Denon may have the THX Ultra but
that's not important to me. HT performance should be on par though, but
I hope someone who has either one of them can tell me about their stereo
performance.I use to have the Arcam 7R and still have a pair of Mission 734i floorstanders (big exciting sound), but the itch has got to me and I think
its time for a completely fresh start!
... amp that is.
