OK so my Marantz 2270 receiver has been a good thing for the last 20+ years but now there's the kids and Home Theatre, whatever that is supposed to mean. I can't find a kit to make my floor slope and there's no way we're going to be ok with dumping out leftover drinks on it anyway.I'm out looking at receivers and the like and find that while HT is indeed quite an experience, listening to "plain old" stereo with the same unit is asking a lot.
Can you recommend 1 or 2 to check out in the $500-$800 range? Or is it just not gonna happen for that kind of money?
For speakers I have a pair of Paradigm Titans (not as old as the Marantz, but rubber rot set into the woofers of my original Avant 4A's), very nice all-round performance for the money...where should I be heading for the rest of the speakers?
Thanks,
Woody
Denon AVR-3300 or Yamaha 995 receiver for both home theater and 2-channel audio. Paradigm of today has several levels of speakers for home theater that will complement the two that you have.
