You may want to look at the following ebay auction....
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1324213800I was interested in two of the peices from this guy's package but he is looking to sell it all together. Also the guy was very helpful when I emailed him. The total package is a great deal if you need a whole system from scratch and the stuff is way better than you could find at bestbuy for circuit city. Also the guy has a complete THX speaker system with two powered subs that he is also selling. He told me he was looking for $2500 for the entire system including all the speakers and components and hi-grade wires. You'll be hard pressed to find a system that is 100% THX certified from the electonics to the wires to the speakers for a better price. Plus the system is made up of seperate components with monoblock amps. If you read some posts in the forum you'll see that having seperate components is the way to go. I hope this helps and good luck putting your system together.
Follow Ups:
He talks about the "Soundstream C-2 Prepro" having various features including, and I quote, "a boatload of additional surround parameters, including Stereo Surround (i.e. Prologic II, before badged as such)."This comment about Prologic II (DPL-II ) is an outright LIE!!!
DPL-II has a completely different design methodology and code base.
Personally I would look somewhere else.
Are you talking about me or the guy selling the equipment? I was looking into his equipment for myself and I also noticed the prologic-2 thing and ask him about it. He did not lie to me and said that it was a stereo surround mode for music and is not prologic-2. He said that he just copied the info for the surround processor from another auction. I too questioned it until I looked at the completed auction for a soundstream C2 (by someone else) and noticed that the auction I was looking at was the auction he copied the description from. Go and see for yourself:http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1321490440
In other words it is not that he is untrustworthy.....he was just lazy. Anyway...the guy was very upfront, knowledgeable and honest with me and even recommended that I not get his equipment for it wasn't a good match for what I was looking for. Why would a deceitful person do that? And if you are questioning me then I question you.......
Lazy or ignorant is no excuse for publishing "WRONG" and misleading information when he is receiving money for that transaction.I'm sorry I don't buy your excuse, there simply is no excuse, period.
Would you buy from someone selling you a PC with a Windows 3.1 OS and advertising it as "Windows 95 before badged as such" ? I don't think so.
