I am sure many of you will do the upgrade inmediately after is available. Please report to the rest of us details. Like, did you receive a piece of paper or email detailing what the upgrade is going to bring, how long is going to take, etc. Also after getting the unit back report the changes in the sound and general performance of the upgraded HTS2. This will be very helpfull for the rest of us. Thanks in advance.

I read of trade-ins and upgrades and other rumors but no factual statements whether (a) the original Krell can be upgraded to the same level as the upgrade for the HTS2, (b) how much, and (c)is it really worth it?

4k to swap the HTS for a 7.1
I saw and spoke to Irv Gross today at the shop where I purchased my HTS--he was demoing their new DVD player. It is being considered by Krell that for original owners of the original HTS will have to pony up $4,000 for the HTS 7.1 (basically a swap). Wow I can save about $200!! (not $2,000) and get DTS, DTS ES, DTS EX, NEO, DD, DD7.1, analog pass through, ect. It is a better processor than the original HTS but is it worth the $4k to swap for me? Depends on my tax refund:-(
