Hey inmates,
I'm just a stereo guy lookign to dabble in home theater a bit. I currntly have a Bryston SPI-1 driving Bryston separate amps for all five channels. I'm looking to downgrade as I do mostly stereo listening and the SP-1 may have been overkill for my HT use.
I was lookign for a cheap pre/pro like the Sony TA-9000ES or the ADcom GTP-760. Both can be had for steals used and will allow me to upgrade my stereo preamp. DOes anyone have any recs on these two pre/pro or suggestiosn for other units in their price range? Thanks for any tips!

How soon are you looking to purchase?Outlaw Audio is about to release their Model 950 preamp/processor with all the latest buzzword decoding (DPL-2, DTS-ES etc) for US$899 new. That's certainly a very good price IMO.
Just something to consider.
Regards,
See if you can find a used AMC AV81HT-DD (does Dolby Digital but not DTS). Unit is well built, slim profile, simple remote. Sounds great. Can be had for at least half, if not less than, its original $1400 price.Older Sherwood (9080) and Rotel (985?) processors are being had for relatively little money. The Sherwood has DTS.
You could probably explore a couple different processors from the used market that can do DD.
I have AMC equipment if any one needs some Email me at tyler@thomastv.com
Unless it's been changed from a year or so ago. It is a very cheap little touchscreen unit that was so poor I couldn't bring myself to buy this unit. The preamp/processor itself has been upgraded over the last year and apparently sounds better than ever. I have no experience with the Adcom unit. The one I wound up buying was the Marantz AV-9000, which I am relatively happy with.Todd
