I recently bought a Marantz SR4200 but have since found that it does not meet my requirements. I need to have s-video outputs for both a TV and projector. The SR4200 has 2 s-video outs, one is the Monitor out and the other is labelled VCR1. I have found that the Monitor out works for all (s-video) inputs, but the VCR1 s-video out, which I had tried connecting the projector to, has no signal when the input is on the VCR1 s-video input. (I guess this makes sense in that you would not want an output to the same device that you were using as the input.)So, I was thinking of upgrading to the SR6200, which has 3 s-video outs. But, before I do this I want to make sure that if I connect the projector to the 3rd s-video out (DSS/VCR2), then it will work when the source is one of the other two inputs. (I could of course use the composite ins and outs but I can really see the quality improvement when using s-video instead.
Does anyone know if the SR6200 will do the job or is there some other approach?
Many thanks in advance.

Well, there are 3 s-video outs, I would say that one would be a main monitor out with on screen graphics etc. The other ones would be record outs for each device. They will output whatever the current source is minus on screen display. But, if your on VCR1 and your trying to use VCR1's s vid out of the receiver you will get nothing. That's the receivers way of avoiding video loops.
If you simply need to have the same s-video signal on a couple different display devices, use an S-video distribution amplifier. You can find these at radio shack for a cheaper one, and then Kramer Electronics is the next step up, and if your all out, go for Extron.
Hope that helps.
Do you have any experience of an S-video distribution amplifier? For example, does it degrade the signal in any way?
Yeah, I would want to randomly ask one of the very trustworthy members of this forum about a product rather than the manufacturer of the product.
