Looking to purchase a working & functional laser disc player, preferably a pioneer.
Follow Ups:
i'm not sure if you were looking for a used player but i bought a new pioneer dvl-919 about two years ago and i'm fairly sure pioneer still produces them.
Been down this road. Be careful about what you select. I spent many hours searching using Google. With the help of an inmate I was pointed to a Pioneer CLD-D925 as one of the last and best incarnations but had quite a job tracking one down - it is used here for PAL LDs but is reputed to do a superior job on NTSC also. The absolute best for NTSC is the Pioneer HLD-X9 but you are unlikely to find one used and they might even be unavailable new by now.Note that the Theta Data III is a tricked up Pioneer CLD-D703/D770 and is excellent re jitter control. However I have read of problems with the CD drawer and had to replace the spindle motor in mine - not a terribly expensive job as the Pioneer parts were easily available.
Good luck with your hunt

Make sure you buy local though so you can ensure that the unit works and it can't be damaged in shipping.
