how to use video recorder on PotPlayer

so sad, cannot figure how to record a video 8 movie to digital, using PotPlayer. Any suggestions? I already did a lot of the things on the net to make it work. Sony analog tape video 8 and hi8 to 64 bit, PC desktop, older HP.
