I've taken the twelve steps, and returned my Toshiba SD-3109 to Bryn Mawr Stereo. I bought it on impulse when they refused to sell me a satalite dish (another story), thinking it would make a decent CD player too. Then I found out there was nothing worth watching on DVD, let alone something worth buying. To make things worse, the sound of CD's on this thing is unbearable. So I put my JVC XL-Z1050 back in the rack, and took the Toshiba back and got all my money back. (back, back, bacck!)

Now the satalite dish. It was easy to install--took about 2 hours to mount the thing on the side of the chimney and run a phone line and pound an isolated technical ground rod and string the coax. Aligning with the satalite was so easy--I'm getting a signal strength of 94 right now. But once again, out of the hundreds of channels--everything is crap! I'm thinking of taking it back too (but the picture is fantastic!).

Victor--you are so correct. VHS is the only way for a film-lover to go. I've been sucked into this digital upgrade feeding frenzy--but I just can't get no, Satisfaction...no, no, no...say hey, hey, hey. that's what I say...

I did see "Jacob's Ladder" on the dish last night. That's a good one.
