Can anyone recommend any serious sci fi movie. Ideally I am looking for a movie that has the special effects and the speed of a modern big budget movie without all the "holes" in the plot or the "religion" or too much unbelievable supernatural stuff (I am talking tarot reading kind of stuff when I say supernatural). Since I have been in the US only in the last few years, I have a feeling that I may yet have the chance to discover a few movies.Or is there no such movie since the market is too limited.
BTW, if the special effects are not there it is okay. In order of importance the "serious" and "no holes" criteria are the top two.
