One of the most unforgettable movies. I can't recall being so absorbed, so connected to the screen for the longest time. When it suddenly ends, you can't move - it flies by you in one short burst, one smooth swoop, it fels like you you just go through one breath...When you first see the five-year-old actress, your reaction is the customary "Ok, another cute face". How quickly you forget that. She creates some of the most riveting images, full of subtle and warm moments.
Apparently she played several more roles later (the latest seems to be in 1994), but none of the same caliber. I need to look at some of them.
By the way, "The Honor Among Thieves" - is that a "prequel" (Thank you, Steve) to How To Steal a Million? Have you seen it? They say Bronson is rather good there.
Speaking of good performances by young actresses, one that haunts me is that by Natalie Portman in the Professional.
The Foirbidden Games by Rene Clement - it completely rehabilitates him after the rather mediocre Is Paris Burning? A true gem and an absolute must see. What is that very familiar guitar music? I could't read all the titles.
