One of the greatest car chase scenes occurs in "Bullitt" starring Steve
McQueen in San Francisco.
I think there is a massive police car chase scene in "The Blues Brothers"
which ends in a big pileup? Hazy on that.
Of course, "Smokey and the Bandit" - Reynolds pursued by Gleason.
There is another movie, "Vanishing Point" featuring Barry Newman, driving
a Dodge Charger(?) across several states out West USA, outrunning police;
and ends up with him committing suicide by crashing into a steam shovel;
(symbolized some sort of heavy statement about freedom of individuals from
societal authority, I suppose); made in the 60's or 70's. - AH
