That's too bad that the players you've seen in that price range have been so poor. Believe me when I tell you that I have seen quite a few DVD players in that price range that have none of those artifacts you refer too. For example, the Pioneer DVD-37, Sony 9000ES, Toshiba 6200 and 9200. All of these players properly setup into a good (properly setup) progressive capable display provide great images. You must have seen poor setups for your demos. Maybe you saw an interlaced output being linedoubled without 3:2 pulldown (that'll cause artifacts). Regardless, you should give the above mentioned players another shot, 'cause I don't think you saw what these players are capable of. If you were in the Boulder, CO area, I'd be able to show firsthand how well a Tosh 9200 looks going through a Key Digital tranducer into the RGBHV input of a Loewe Planus...stunning. All we are saying....Is give DVD a chance...sorry, couldn't resist...;-)Peace,
