I don't understand why this movie flopped at the Box Office. Perhaps most Americans could not read into the subtle messages about happiness, paradise found, suffering, etc. that the movie put forth. That's a shame, because I though this was a very good movie!!! Most people probably though they were getting a "Lagoon" flick (w/Brooke Shields) type deal, and did not give it a chance. That Scottish character was a pisser as well in "The Beach".
