I find it funny that in many discussions regarding "best American movies" his films usually don't get mentioned, even though his EVERY new film is a must-see. For to me his work has always been one of the bright spots in the modern American cinema. With films like Crimes and Misdemeanors he had secured his place on the movie Olimpus. And in my view this is his best work ever. The man is also responsible for some of the most memorable moments in the movie history.

So how come he doesn't hold a more favorable position? Is that because of his attitude towards the West Coast establishment? That should actually give him a boost, I'd think (I know it does with me...).

What is your favorite film? And also, what role, if any, have his sexcapades played in your perception of his work? It seems like he has pretty much disappeared from the minds of many viewers... riht?
