Saw this movie several times and have the video (not for sale though!). Without giving away too much of the plot you are correct in that they cloned multiple Hitlers, I believe 14, and placed them in a similar home surroundings to Hitler's to give them the chance to turn out like Hitler (including older father that worked in a civil service job, mother who coddled the son, only child, etc., etc.) Movie has some great scenes in it especially with Gregory Peck playing a very convincing Angel of Death, Dr. Mengele. The scene at the end with the Dobermans is also quite intense. Sir Lawrence Olivier does his usual super job as Wiesenthal the famous Nazi hunter.
By having Olivier play the exact opposite role that he played in The Marathon Man (an even better film), makes for an interesting contrast and shows the flexibility that Sir Lawrence Olivier had.
All in all I would give the movie an 87 on a 100 scale, with
these actors they could have even done a better job. Thoroughly worth viewing as I bought the video and have seen it several times. The idea of cloning infamous historical villians is certainly a great idea for a film. Hope this helps. Doomsday
