Oh, you ruthless man... I would never go THAT far. The American movie makers have managed a few good ones, it just that it takes long time to remember them, as they are so far and between.Americans did the same thing to film they did to fast food and to coffee. Fortunately, as in case of coffee, you can always find good foreign ones here. Unless you are petew, who is too lazy to take a 30 minute drive to Delaware, the world capital, where there are good people in addition to good films... he-he...
And as far as British... I don't think they themselves have too much to be proud of lately. With few notable exceptions they seem to be catching up with the darn yanks. But of course when they do somethign good it is GOOD. And subtle. Nothing can ever replaces the old-world class and charm.
