Being a huge fan of the old one, to the point where I used to skate with an orange shirt with a big black '6' on it, I went to see the new one.
Take the worst of a Tom Clancy novel, combine it with the absolute worst of Perils of Gwendolyn, remove the sexploitation and leave only the violence, and there you have the new one.
Bleah. $8.50 wasted. It even spoiled the taste of the popcorn.
The plot was ok, although completely unlike the original. The cast was mostly ok. The editing was choppier than (*&(&. The continuity was awful, the female lead's scar moved around her face for instance. The violence was endless (well, Rollerball IS ultra-violent) to the point of detracting from the plot, and we didn't need to SEE it, ...
And the stereotypes. Oh man, the stereotypes. Somebody give the director a white sheet and a hood, man. :(
On a scale of 1 to 10 it's a zero.
