Chelmsford 123 - any brilliant ideas?

OK, why don't I give this another try after so many years ...
Has anyone seen the absolute top notch comedy series Chelmsford 123, set in Roman occupied Britain, that must have been broadcast in the UK in the mid/late 80s? I still fail to grasp why Channel 4 and Hat Trick (who own the rights), in an incredible display of ignorance and arrogance have blatantly refused to release this masterpiece (we are talking Fawlty Towers- league here folks) on video. Sadly, after a few years of ferocious battle for their right to view this, people seem to have resigned.
Still, perhaps someone has taped the series back then, or knows someone else who has? Would that someone do me a big-time favour and contact me? Any other ideas how to go about this?
