I vote for 1978's "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", directed by Philip Kaufman. The srory update is neat and the casting (Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Leonard Nemoy, Jeff Goldblum, Veronica Cartwright) is spot on. Add a cameo by the 1956 original's Kevin McCarthy (and a tiny cameo by Robert Duvall at the beginning) and you can't go wrong."If it's a caper, eat it!"
