Carrie Snodgrass, one of the absolutely finest actresses of her generation, has died of liver disease at 57.Ms. Snodgrass starred in several films but is best remembered for her Oscar-nominated tour-de-force performance in the 1971 classic "Dairy of a Mad Housewife" and her role in Clint Eastwood's "Pale Rider." Most of her later work has been guest starring roles on television, the last of which was on "The West Wing."
Ms. Snodgrass was married to Neil Young in the early 1970s and is the mother of their son, Zeke, who was with her when she died.
She left us much too soon. She will be missed.
