An infamous best selling "dirty book" during my coming of age years in the fifties, the much anticpated film tones things WAY down and is a passable soap opera with numerous plots and subplots. Lana Turner, Kevin McCarthy, and LLoyd Nolan star. The theme music is memorable and of course became the theme music for the later TV series in the sixties.
