I saw this film long, long time ago. It was slowly moving, and I had all my respect for it, but...Now I have discovered all the beauty of this film. It is the equal of a Bergman.
It shines.
That is all what it is about in life.
For a Criterion release it is bad. Sound compressed, images not really fine. I would see this one on an AM radio, if you understand the analogy, which I do not doubt.
It is the equal of the very best.
When the noise of LOTR or else has fade into our brains, then it is time to have redemption.
That is THIS one.
