I watched this for the first time over the weekend.
The irony here---when this was made, it was a contemporary and boldly ironic statement about the birth of the nuclear era and the Cold War---but now, it seems to paint a slightly different picture. I couldn't help but see it as a strange time capsule of American fear and panic circa 1950 (which stretched into the 80s)---when we didn't know then what we know now.
