This formulaic cross country buddy bonding film is elevated above the usual by its superb casting in both major and minor roles. Every character has a tic or pecularity which is on display every time he (most are he's) puts in an appearence. Robert De Niro plays a good cop truened bounty hunter who is escorting former mob accountant now thief Charles Grodin from New Your to L. A. to collect a large fee from a bail bondsman. They are being pursued in this effort by both the FBI and the mob, the former for capture and the latter for killing them. A rival bounty hunter is also involved. Just about every know transportation vehicle is engaged as the bounty hunter loses, recaptures, loses again, recap---etc., etc. his charge. Thoroughly enjoyable and well acted from start to finish. Martin brest directed.
The early DVD is not anamorphic and is in plain stereo, which can be jazzed up by PL II or DTS Neo 6.
