* In Good Company - This movie has got some really good moments aimed at the desperation of baby-boomer corporate types. Well-acted, predictable, but well executed. Even though Topher Grace is getting type-cast because of his yuppieness, he performed well along with Quaid as his unwilling subordinate/mentor.* Assault on Precinct 13 - Was expecting MAJOR dissapointment but was pleasently suprised. The opening sequence was particularly gritty and the staging and direction of the action was terrific. You basic good cop vs. bad cop flick that has a less than happy ending. Poor Fish and Dennehey gave their usual monochromatic performances but it didn't hurt the overall thrust of the story.
* Sideways - It this about wine, buddies, comedy, or what? Doesn't matter. Sideways was an experience that shows the true LOW nature of men on the prowl. (Thank Tom Church!) The women in the audience were howling at all of Church's macking behaviors. Really enjoyed it even though it seems to defy classification.
