Alan Parker directed this sad tale of a marriage's breakup and it effect on the couple, their four daughters, and even the lovers each takes on during the process. Albert Finney stars as a San Francisco area writer who starts things off with an affair with Karen Allen, and Diane Keaton stars as his long suffering wife. While they are breaking up, Keaton gets involved in an affair with a
contractor she has hired to build her a tennis court on the couple's sprawling property. This film uniquely captures the pain and ambivalence of a marriage falling apart and has many scenes that will have anyone who has gone through such a life event nodding. Highly recommended but very sad. Extremely well acted by all.
