"Man on Fire"

Denzel Washington plays Creasy, an alcoholic former military assiasin. With the help of his friend Christopher Walken he takes a job as the bodyguard of the young daugher of a wealthy Mexico City couple. Kidnappings are very common in Mexicao City. After Creasy reluctantly then enthusiastically bonds with the young girl, she is kidnapped in broad daylight right in front of him. In the ensuing shootout, Creasy kills two of the kidnappers, corrupt police officers (also common there). He then sets out to recover from wounds he recieved in the shoot out, find the girl, and kill those resposible. Meanwhile a ransom drop is compromised. The police are chasing Creasy as a cop killer and he gets help from a courageous female newspaper reporter and weapons from Walken, some heavy stuff of military grade which of course he knows how to use. He goes on a killing rampage when the girl is believed dead.

Filmed using a very gritty film stock and well recorded in DTS, the movie holds your interest although IMHO it could have been trimmed in length a bit and still have bee effective.
