Direstor John Carpenter has his name above the title in this sci fi flick about an alien (Jeff Bridges) who clones himself as karen Allen's deceased husband using a lock of the husband's hair. Prior to this his ship is shot down over northern Wisconsin and he has to get to the giant meteor crater in Arizona to be picked up by his rescuers. Allen agrees to drive him. Along the way Bridges learns English, brings a dead deer back to life, and falls in love with Allen. All the while a SETI invetigator (Charles Martin Smith) is trying to track them down along with various police and Penatgon types. I always enjoy watching this one and feel it is well done and above average. Karen Allen has one of the most beautiful faces in all of Hollywood.
