Tilda Svinson stars as a Lake Tahoe mother of three who believes her eldest, a teen age son, is involved in a homosexual affair with a an older man. As the film opens she visits the man in Reno to ask him to leave the boy alone. He demands money. Later that night he visits the son and they scuffle over the event, the aftermath being the accidental death of the man. The mother discovers the body the next day and anchors it and dumps it into the lake. Soon a colleague of the man shows up with a videotape of the man and the son and demands $50,000 or he and his partner will turn the taspe over to the police, thus linking the boy with the dead man. Then the body is discovered. There are tons of twists and an unusual relationship between the mother and the blackmailer. Very enjoyable.
