Saw it tonight on my friend's home theater system.Above par diaster movie, acting was OK, it's nice to see the kid from Donnie Darko in another movie, as I liked him in Darko. As usually in any movie, but especially disaster movies, science and common sense take a back seat to make the movie interesting. The bash you in the face environmentalism is grating sometimes, and many characters are cliche, but it's still fun to look at. The effects were pretty cool, except for the cheesy CGI animals. Tip for effects guys: don't have a real dog in one scene and a CGI one in another.
Overall score: 65/100
