There is a part-thread below about whether or not Brokeback Mountain is "mainstream".
Personally I can't think of a single aspect of it that would stop it being so described especially as it is showing in mainstream cinemas to a mainstream audience and thus, surely it is mainstream..
But some people clearly disagree. OK.
So, what is mainstream?
Surely not films that describe conventional social situations from 50 years ago... married couple, 2.4 kids? The world has moved on and so has the mainstream. In my opinion.
