And his last months on earth.
He came from the tradional right and choose to make a political carrier to the left.
He was someone near to the " Prince " Machiavel outstanding political statment.
His past in the last war was somewhat not very clear, but Le Grand Charles never really denounced it.
He was the last great ( if you like him or not ) president France and with the mondialisation and Europe the time of men of his character is for now over.
He was incredibly cultivate. And as living French man cliché he loved women.
Well he got cancer, the kind old men gets.
He ask a young man ( Jewish...) to write a book about him and a kind of freindship started between the two.

That is the film. And beyond the help being French, it is a universal story full of humanism,
AND oudtandly played.

The critics were not very good. They were wrong. And how.
A marvel of a good film.
See it.
