Soderbergh's "Bubble:"

run and get this, NOW!
I know he's respected and admired for both mainstream and "indie-type" films, but I've always felt, with the exception of "Traffic," that Soderbergh hasn't lived up to the promise of "Sex, Lies, and Videotape."
Well, in 2005 he made a small-scale, extremely low-budget film with unknown actors and non-actors.
It is a wonder. It reminds you that for the vast amount of films, we participate in a subconscious suspension of disbelief and accept "acting" for real behavior. You know what I mean: the second-look, the cute grin, the constant looking away and back again at the speaker, etc. Artifice instead of art, in other words.
None of that in "Bubble."
I spent a long time in the Midwest, working and living among the people portrayed here: it absolutely is real.
This film is a must for Americans or for those that wish to understand us.
