Help remembering name of movie

I am pretty sure it was Australian.
Sci-fi drama about an event where everyone who is at the moment of death is alive. Everyone else is gone. Guy roams for a while, then meets girl, then meets another guy. Something about it being a science experiment with "the grid" and the guy is one of the designers. Drives a truck into the grid to destroy it at the end.
Sound familiar? It was on my top 100 list at one point, but now I cannot remember the name.
