In a movie that seems cobbled togather and which is really all plot, Sean Connery is am anti-capital punishment Harvard Law professor who reluctantly agrees to take on a pro bono case involving a young black man (Blair Underwood) who is on death row in Florida for a brutal child murder he maintains he didn't commit. Along the way Connery tangles with a tough local police chief (Lawrence Fishburne) and also learns that his own wife (Kate Capshaw) was the prosecuting Assistant D.A. in the case eight years before. A huge plot twist turns this from an investiagting attorney procedural into an action thriller but at the end you realize that you really haven't seen one of the great ones.
