Admittedly I'm old school when it comes to this, but I firmly believe that besides quieting your cell phone, one should turn it off. But the pre movie warnings only ask that moviegoers quiet their phones, not turn them off. It's irritating as hell to see that bright light right in front of you and someone pecking over their keys sending a text message or reading a message and passing it around to friends. Just damn rude and inconsiderate to me. And if you're waiting on a message that's so %^$#ing important that you don't care if you interrupt your viewing or someone else's viewing of the movie, don't be at the movie then. This came to a head today when our daughter (age 26) took two messages at a movie she went to see with us on Father's Day. She got a good shsssing from me and I got the expected, eat crapola look. Didn't discuss it afterwards.
FWIW, we were at The Omen (a compromise choice). Very average, about 1/2 star lower than the original. Its worth no more elaboration. An unnecessary almost note for note remake that added nothing to the original. Blah, yawn, Zzzzzzzz.
