This is a doco about the New York Times crossword and its annual crossword competition.
Nerdy? Sure, but so are all we for fixating on anything here!!
Its an interesting look into the machinations of compiling crosswords and the running of the competition and also of course the personalities of the contectants.
I did find it a bit hard to figure some of the clues as shown )along with answers) and assume they are very American usgae of language. Nothing unusual there for an AMerican Paper! But occasionally a bit tricky to fit. The examples that I remember were "electronic wedding and "family circle games" which to me are just randon chains of words.
Then again I grew up on the GUardian crossword and that is plain bizarre. Maybe it just illustrates what makes us all so different!
OK, its an enjoyable film and I certainly don't regret seeing it. If you enjoy crosswords then go and see what people who are MUCH bettre than any of us at it are like!!
