Eternal: Vampire or French Canadian?

Yet another spin of the vampire's quest for eternal life and youth taking place in Montreal. A rather rough-edged detective (who looks like an uglied-up Billy Zane) loses his wife to the clutches of the new vampiress in town. Quickly discovering leads, he confronts her at the gorgeous mansion she recently purchased for one dollar. Next comes the dance of death between the two as the vampire manages to frame the detective for one murder after the other. Oddly, this colorful, well-shot film climaxes in Venice. (I presume the producer wanted a nice vacation.) There, after some colorful searching along the canals and walkways, we have a final confrontation which leads to her capture.

Bandied as film noir it delivers.

Recommended for vampire lovers and manic depressives.
