Time To Leave

This beautiful French film concerns a successful early 30s fashion photographer who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. That is no spoiler as it happens in the opening minutes.
Thereon we watch him get used uncomfortably to the idea he is going to die. And then we watch him. Melvil Poupaud is convincing in this difficult role, not being made up to look pale but by slowly showing the life draining out of him.
I would recommend this to anyone here for when you want a sad serious film which has funny moments. ans he isn't the most sympathetic of characters. When he is diagnosed, he immediately wants sex with his lover whom is them told to pack and move out.
Did I mention that he is gay?
This sex scene is quite graphic and I gather some guys here are uncomfortable watching men have sex. Especially with erect penises on show.
Be warned.
Our hero settles into acceptance and we watch his attitude to those who love him slowly change as he withdraws from life as he gets progessively more ill.
Very good but not a happy film.
