If Lynch remade "Blow Up" this is close to what it would be. I don't know if this is an homage to Lynch or Refn is just slightly behind the curve. Regardless, the results are compelling.Turrturo plays a mall security guy whose pregnant wife was shot to death in the parking garage one night. His life has been taken over by trying to solve and comprehend his tragic loss. He constantly studies purloined security tapes from the mall searching for clues while being haunted by visions of his wife. He finally discovers a clue that sends him to Montana in search of an unnamed woman whom he believes can give him answers.
The pacing, art direction, and sparsity of dialog are glacial in a most compelling way. It trickles studied movements interspersed with Lynchian signatures by way of symbolic settings and momentary psychedelic flashes.
Highly recommended.
